The state\u2019s public utilities commission approved a tariff that drastically lowered net metering rates for new state customers, giving homeowners an incentive to store their solar power for their own use instead of selling back to utilities.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Commercial &amp; Industrial: <\/strong>While C&amp;I hasn\u2019t seen the level of growth of residential solar-plus-storage, energy storage offers this market enticing reductions in operating costs by avoiding peak demand charges and high electric bills.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Utility:<\/strong> Grid-scale energy storage is driving the market as utilities and large power users look for solutions to improve reliability. Electronic chip shortages have delayed solar inverters, and panels<a href=\"https:\/\/www.commerce.gov\/news\/press-releases\/2023\/08\/department-commerce-issues-final-determination-circumvention-inquiries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> faced investigations<\/a> for circumventing antidumping and countervailing duties.
