Where It Started:
Sunhub traces its roots back to 2007, when our ownership team founded Yellowlite, a residential and commercial solar installation company, as part of our commitment to make solar available to everyone. Over time, Yellowlite has grown into Ohio's largest solar installer. Emerging from this pioneering spirit, Sunhub would branch off to carve its own path in the solar industry.
Sunhub began 2020 with a clear-cut mission: to reimagine the lifecycle of solar equipment. We started by purchasing equipment and modules nearing the end of their life, confident there were customers out there who needed to buy affordable panels in a seller's market. We also aimed to establish a dedicated online marketplace where these buyers could purchase the equipment they needed.
As we grew, so did our customers demand to expand our services beyond conventional equipment resale. Encouraged by this input, we continued to invest in our original digital distribution model while forming manufacturer relationships that ensure we can facilitate solar deals of all sizes In a short time, Sunhub has evolved into a central procurement arm for the industry's top manufacturers and suppliers.
Our customer-driven business model has marked our transition from a resale-focused platform to an integral part of the solar industry's supply chain, offering streamlined, efficient solutions for sourcing solar equipment.
Growth and Innovation Lead The Way
Since our inception in 2020, Sunhub has charted a path of consistent growth and innovation. Each year has marked a notable increase in our sales and market presence. 2021 to 2022 marked an exceptional growth rate of 5,400%. The upward trend continued from 2023 to 2024, with a 145% increase in new registrations, a 184% rise in registered sellers, a 20% increase in marketplace transactions, and a 345% surge in order volume.
These figures reflect our commitment to progress and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the solar industry.
Innovation is central to our ethos, which we demonstrated with the launch of the industry's first Solar Trader Platform in 2023. Our chat-based platform streamlines the online solar procurement process for buyers and sellers. It facilitates smooth negotiations and transactions, giving Sunhub a new way to contribute to the growth of the solar industry.
